    Dean Smith and Grace 30 x 120

    Hi there

I know it's not really a tooling issue but is relevant to manual turning.

I recently started in a machine shop and their DS & G Lathe has no way of identifying the RPM/Spindle speed or indications on where to position the levers to achieve the RPM you would like.

I know its a long shot but hoping someone out there has a similar machine and could fire me a few pictures so I could make up a new Identification
    plate.

Thanks in advance any help is very much appreciated.

    Cheers

If my memory serves me right, there should be a plate riveted on the machines headstock displaying the info you need. If the plate is missing, you could look for the info in the machine's manual. If you do not have the manual, they are available on line.

    Yes DZASTR,

There most probably was a plate riveted to the machine there some where..... but is no longer the case.

I have also tried looking in the manual but there is no mention of spindle RPM selection in there.

    Thanks

Maybe you can locate somebody who has a similar machine. They could photograph the plate to you, with a scale next to it . Then, you could have the plate duplicated.

In one of my past lives the shop had three DS&G engine lathes, best engine lathes in the shop.
