try this
Digi Connect SP - Compact Serial Server for Custom Applications - Digi International
we use them on 32 machines here with very good results.
it will let you use your network conection on your computer and then switch to rs232 to the machine.
we run network cable from office to machine and use this device with a 3 foot rs232 cable
Thanks for the link. Have you used them on the DM3000?
Plug and play sounds good, but they are a lot of money for something that may not be compatable?
If your DM3000 takes RS232, then this WILL work: Mini USB to Serial Converter | Mini USB to RS232 - B&B Electronics
The drivers make it appear just like it was a COM port on your computer. I use them for lots of different equipment with labview, matlab, hyperterminal, realterm, putty, etc.
Just do yourself a favor and don't buy the ebay RS232 to USB converters. Lots of problems with drivers and other headaches.

Rick,
If you are looking to upload and download programs to the machine, we sell cables on the website. We also have a USB to serial device that works 100% with a variety of CNC controllers. We have documentation on this machine as well. Optionally, if you want to get fancy, you can use a Digi SP or something like that ethernet to serial device but overkill for your application for 1 CNC.
We have used the Digi in the past but had problems with reliability and warranty service, so we stopped recommending this model.
