Water jet cutting machine can cut several materials suah as stainless steel,aluminum,marble,granite,glass and so on.As as CNC cutting machine,it can cut different pattern include round and square.

For example water jet cutting stainless steel for a hole,what is the min diameter?May be 2mm,may be smaller.

Are there anybody make this test?If you have your answer,glad to hear from you.

Since the kerf of the water jet is about .02 inch pretty hard to cut a small circle. You also need a lead in and lead out area. Guess it would depend on how thick of material.

I've done .080 hole with our machine at work. It has a .040 kerf.

Thanks.Yes it is difficult to do this.As you said,if the water jet kerf 0.02 inch(0.5mm),and set the lead in/out as same area(both in the hole),and set a 1mm diameter path.Then the smallest hole diameter is 0.5*2+1=2mm.Firstly,the lead in/out area should be smaller than 0.5mm.If bigger,for example 1mm,then the min hole diameter is 0.5*2+1+(1-0.5)*2=3mm.

The above is the limit and theoretical value.In practic,it may be larger.How do you think?

It is great to make an 0.08 inch hole,was that water jet cutting machine?If the kerf is 0.04inch,how did you set the cutting path?Set the cutting diameter as 0.04inch?

If cut it by cnc router or laser machine,it is not so difficult.I think so....
