I don't wanna be a downer because I do really like the boolean subtract functions but anytime your geometery isn't nice square things with uniform radii.. bobcad crashes when you attempt something like this. So then you gotta break the solid up and basically do it one surface at a time till you find the surface that it crashes on
You can use this feature on complex geometry, it all depends on the solid you are working with. If you have a sample part you are having issues with, let me know and I'll point you in the right direction. You can email me the file and we can work on it together.
My guess is there is something "wrong" with the file in the first place, so send me a sample and let's see.

Here is the same part showing some of the surfacing tools you can use. There also were some dropped surfaces and I show how to repair them...

very helpful!!!!
Big Chipin, spreading tha cheese, I be Big Chipin for days!
Giving you a like, but wouldn't split this where you did....
This really isn't a mold it's a pattern and the split was based on what the customer wanted to do. Moldmaker I am sure you have more experience on this type of work then I do, Based on what you can see where would you split the part?

Al
How much draft, and what type of material is going to be injected can help in figuring any mold parting line. Some of the injection foam molds that we have built need a minimum of 15 deg. draft.
Your Video is a Excellent example of basic mold making Using Bobcad solids and will help many. Keep up the good work.
Thank You Al
Al, patterns are completely different animals than injection molded parts... but if I were working with a customer that wanted an injection mold built, on the cheap, it would look like this:
