    Z axis problem.

Hi guys i have a problem with my z axis, the machine homes an all axis great but when i try to run a program the z axis only goes down to 6mm which in vetric in progam as the sheet size and the depth of the cut, I thought the problem was the configuration but ive followed all the steps and set the z axis as -100 as my length of travel but it still only goes down the 6mm any help on this would be great.
    Thanks

It sounds like it thinks it's at the surface and all it needs to do is drop 6mm to be in the material. Are you setting a "floating zero" for the Z axis at the surface of your workpiece? The Home position is just a reference point; the tool tip has to be zeroed in relationship to the workpiece and the CAD model. If the zero point of your model is at the surface of your workpiece, set it there. If it's at the level of the table, set it there instead.
