    Fanuc 21 M 701 alarm

701 alarm, fan motor overheat. Found 2 fans on spindle drive and power supple unit. Replace both and still shows 701. Original fan was Toyo fan but buy replacement from Mcmaster, 230v 10-12W fans. How to determine which fan is bad? Still shows 701 after replacing both fans. No fans on x, y, z drives.
    Need help.
    Thanks

If you replace a 3 wire fan with a 2 wire fan it will read a fault. There are fans in the heat sink area in the back of some drives, also some drives have fans inside that you can not see. Also check the spindle drive motor. I dont know what drives you have, the yellow Fanuc books should give you more info.
