LC1325 W6 Reci Laser Cutter Review

I have googled for reviews or any comments related to bigger laser cutter machines ( 1300 x2500 ) labeled as 1325 , but nothing could be found on Google and forums .So both to continue to get help and to do some payback for all the help i got here I wanted to leave a thread about the purchase and machine quality. Hopefully this will be useful to folks interested in buying direct from china in the future.

The crate was very very big, we rented a truck to bring it to our shop and it barely fit into the back of full size truck ( Tailgate and one side gate would not close) and they have to remove it temporary. They kept second wooden box ( Air filter) on top of the bigger box.We used local workers( 10 workers) to unload it , they were very well trained and not used any forklift. First they removed wooden pieces on all sides and top side, then slide it through the end of the truck and slowly placed down. Once it is on ground they removed lock on wheels and rolled in to our shop.

Once it is inside, we unpacked it fully and we could not found any visible physical damages, so we were happy with a big relief . The wooden packing was excellent and could not be easily damaged. Immediately we checked all items to make sure everything is as per our Purchase order . Almost all items were as per the PO,but two items were not there in the package. Since it is bigger laser cutter and needs two Ex-host Fans , but only one was there along with the package, LCD Panel was also not there for spare MPC6565 Controller kit ( Controller card+ LCD Panel+ Dongle) ,.

We also noticed there is no RECI brand sticker on the both laser tubes even though metal Rings at cathode side is marked with RECI ,We confirmed the length is same as per RECI website for W6 laser tubes. I have to ask lucy at G-weike regarding this.

My observations regarding LC1325 W6 RECI
    -----------------------------------------------------
Since we have to go to my office to report regarding the consignment, we left and came back at night for assembling the machine. Only night time we can do anything which requires more concentration, day time there will be lot of calls and customers..

The mechanical construction and physical appearance is good. One thing i felt bad is the level difference of the aluminum knife tables, Since we ordered the motorized half Up&Down table, the table bed was divided in to two. one with individually removable knife bars (on back side) and the other with fixed knife bars (on front side). Both are different types, the one, which is used at Up&Down is aesthetically very bad and not even aligned on XY axis. Removable knife bars are good and aligned perfectly. We thought it will be nice,if we would have been not selected UP&DOWN table which is very very sparingly used by this kind of bigger machine. There is no drawer to collect the small pieces under the movable knife table, other fixed side it is having the drawer.

First we opened doors on all sides with supplied keys, confirmed nothing is damaged inside, checked all cables joints for any possible loose connections and breakage. To confirm this we just pressed by hand all connector joints once more.Next we started to assemble by installing Laser tube, and we selected the tube ( We purchased two tubes) which we found water droplets inside the tube, as it may be used by them to test the machine. We connected the tube as described and confirmed nothing is pressed against tube ( like cables, since there were very less space to hold this W6 laser tube ). Powered the chiller (CW5200) and checked for any air bubbles locked inside the laser tube ( which should not be there) nothing was found . So everything is in order, and we are ready to power the laser cutter.

We powered the laser cutter from our UPS power supply and Successfully tested X ,Y movements. But Z axis ( UP&DOWN table) was not moving , even though motor rotating noise is there. we checked it for any visible lock, but could not find any and left it for checking later, as it is not important immediately. We test fired the laser by "Laser" button, a loud high voltage arcing sound came with no deflection on laser ammeter. We thought something is damaged inside the laser power supply, searched for any smells, which normally gets when MOSFET or IGBT burns (Inside the Power supply), nothing was reached in to my nose.So checked all laser cables and arranged a person to stand near the laser tube ( certainly keeping a safe distance) and tried once more with a very short press on "Laser" button. Again arced with a big sound,Tis time ,we could find, it was from the Positive (Anode) Terminal of the laser tube to the cabinet. Thanks to our electrician for good earthing.

Since the high voltage arc is near the tube, we confirmed the laser power supply is working well and problem may be the solder joint at the anode.I sent one of my friend to get the soldering iron and some solder from our office and re-soldered it , But the result was same. Since it is high voltage arcing and the time was around 2 AM,we are afraid to play more with it ( It is 30KV!!). We were totally ex-hosted, by fearing if the arcing is due to space issue (near the laser tube), nothing can be done, because no space is there to move laser tube or wires and it is the result of bad design of the machine,so we lost the money...

Then my friend asked me to try with spare laser tube, we drained all waters from the installed tube and replaced it with new one, fired , yes it worked like a charm with pink light from laser.....a long sigh came from me.... what a relief.... I think there is no gas inside laser tube, so the high voltage found nearest ground as less resistive path to return. we almost confirmed that the laser tube was damaged, i do not know how it happened even though it is not used for a single minute . may be it is an old stock or used one ,they sent accidentally.

So with new tube installed, we thought we can try a sample cut , and connected the laptop which we used already with my other laser cutter (lc6090) and tried to download a sample work , but to our bad luck my friend made a mistake -instead of clicking the "download" button, he clicked the nearest button "download CFG", without prompting anything, the software silently loaded the configuration file for LC6090 to LC1325 with a long beep for confirmation. Guys i was again fully ex-hosted. nothing can be done for the day , oh.. sorry night 3AM. lucy will be sleeping. So stopped everything till getting the new CFG file from Gweike as well as the reply regarding the missing items and reliability regarding unbranded tube ( without RECI sicker). Stay tuned ... will be back shortly with Images and reply from G-weike...

We had problems with arcing aswell. These chinese machines are quite poorly designed. The plastic insulation "cup" on the reci tube caugh fire once from arcing, which broke the tube. Since then we have made an acrylic box to fit outside the end of the tube. These machines works quite okay, but you really get what you pay for:-)

Arcing in one way is a safety measure, all that power has to go somewhere in the event of tube failure, better to the machine chassis than through you. Isolating the + end of the tube too well can cause safety problems in the event of failure.

    Hi Friends,

today we are facing a strange problem on our LC1325.,I had sent a support request to Lucy,Unfortunately they are on Mid-Autumn Holiday from Sep.18th-Sep. 20th, So please help if anybody is here..

When we loaded the file and start to cut with 65% power, the laser tube (W6) is lighting with less brightness and Ammeter shows 6ma and laser starts to emit ( Not Stable- look like engraving), the Acrylic sheet(3mm) is started to cut ( but not cutting fully) and after 4-5 sec the laser tube changed to more brightness (Stable) with ammeter reading became 18ma (Required current) . Surprisingly during this time there is no laser output and no cutting at all. To confirm the laser , i have put one paper on light path , nothing happened to the paper ,there is no laser output.

Even though visible pink light can be seen on laser tube there is no Laser OUTPUT!!!

please confirm , whether the laser tube is gone or is there any thing i can do before replacing the tube.

It's not getting the correct trigger current, check the trigger wires on the PSU to make sure all the screws are tight. (check all the wires on the PSU but DON'T touch the big red one unless the laser has been powered off for at least 12 hours) (it won't kill you but it HURTS)

    cheers

Important information on the RECI label includes the serial number (product number) for warranty. Also, the agreed upon power, that is a setting that you can regulate from your laser power supply by setting the max current. If you have a warranty issue, RECI will look at the color of the electrodes and if they have changed color, then it demonstrates operating the tube above the agreed upon power and can nullify the warranty. See How to test and set a Chinese (China) made CO2 Laser Power Supply to get long life from your CO2 Laser Tube for your Laser Engraving and Laser Cutting Machine System to test the current and you can adjust the potentiometer on the dy20. But be sure to measure your CO2 laser output power, because that is the agreement for warranty.

The text below is a copy of the instructions for the dy20, from RECI. Also below is a warranty description for one of the laser tube product lines from RECI. You can get an idea of how the warranty works from the text. Probably best to contact RECI for warranty on your product line.

Below is a copy of the text from the RECI Instruction for dy20

    DY20 Power Supply Instruction
    I. Instruction for sub-connection wire of the control end
    1 2 3 4 5 6 5V TH TL WP G IN
    1) Footer 1 is 5V power supply. (Not needed when connecting the cardinal plate. It is used when regulating the power with potentiometer, and the 5V current should be less than 10 mA.
    2) TH. TL refers to high and low power level respectively, and WP refers to water protection.
    3) Footer 5 G refers to ground, and 6 refers to input end.
    4) When connecting the control plate, connect the light signal with footer 2 in the case of high power level light-emitting, (footer 3 for low power level light-emitting), connect the ground-wire with footer 5, connect footer 6 with power control analog signal, and make short circuit for footer 4 and 5.
    5) PWM can also be used in footer 6, but the pulse peak is required to reach 5V, and the frequency should be above 20K.
    6) For testing: 3, 4 and 5 are in short circuit (or 4, 5 are in short circuit and 3, 5 are connected to switch), the potentiometer center is connected with 6 IN, and the two other ends are connected to 5V and ground (1 and 5) respectively.
    7) The high power level controls the light, 1 and 2 are connected, and 4 and 5 are in water protection.
    8) It is not proposed to control laser power with high-frequency modulation, because it will have impact on the service life of the laser.
    9) The model is applicable to A6, A8 laser, it is necessary to regulate and use the current according to the laser instructions.
    10) The ammeter is concatenated to the cathode line.

    II.Instruction for power wire
    Footer 1 Ground footer 2 footer3 AC 220V 50HZ 10A
Note: The table 10A refers to the connection wire requirement, but not the actual power dissipation.

III. Instruction for laser connection wire

    1) The positive red-line with high voltage is connected to the laser tail

    2) The negative white-line is connected to laser output window

    IV. Current limitation
To limit the working current, the potentiometer (lies in the underside of the power supply) should be rotated in counterclockwise (please refer to the schematic diagram in our website: Beijing Reci Laser Technology Co., Ltd.-Home). Limit the maximum output current as it is regulated in the operating instruction. The working current should be limited before delivery.

    V. Linear scale between input signal and the output current
Turn around the potentiometer, the linear scale will be changed: for example, when the input signal is 0-5V, the output current is 0-40mA.Or when the input signal is 0-2V, the output signal is 0-40mA.
Note: when the potentiometer is turned down too much, the real output current will be brought down by the same input signal.

    VI. Using current
The use standard for our power supply is under 220V, 50Hz. The fluctuation of the input voltage and frequency will affect the working current provided by the power supply, the effection is linear relative. The unstable of the input voltage will affect the output power of the laser tube. The fluctuation of the input voltage has no effection on the lifespan of the laser if only the current provided by the power supply is not over the current limitation.

The user should pay for one way freight for repair. The company is not responsible for any damage and change of laser structures.
    ● From the 180th to the 300th days after manufactured, if the user follows the instructions and the power output happens to be lower than 85% of the rated power
output, the company shall provide either repair or replace the laser tube with our special tube (depending on specific case) for free. The user should pay for one way freight
for the repair. The company is not responsible for any damage and change of laser structures. The warranty for tubes exchanged during this period is four months.
The quality assurance is invalidated to the special offered products or customized products. 2.
The user must follow the instructions for A4, otherwise the quality guaranteed assurance is invalidated. 3.
The matched power supply for each model must be equipped, otherwise the quality guaranteed assurance is invalidated. 4.
The returned A-Series products must meet the following qualifications, otherwise the quality guaranteed assurance is invalidated. 5.
    1) The appearance, structure and certificate are in good condition.
    2) The surface of output mirror is not polluted, cut or splitted.
    3) The exterior surface of the negative electrode container shall NOT in brown yellow, and the discharge area within the electrode container shall NOT more than 65%.
(The two phenomena are in direct proportion with the intensity of current flow and the usage of super-current. We mainly rely on this method to measure whether the laser
is in over-high current state for long time. If this happens, we shall not provide guarantee for the laser. So the user must pay attention in case of losses.)
Standard for delivery: A4 rated power 100w and Max. power 110w. 6.
Quality assurance for A4 CO2 Laser takes effect from April 10th 2010 and the next adjustment is allowed. Please refer to the next adjustment as final in
