Air plasma lead ins / outs

    Hi guys,

I'm running a hypertherm 45 on a custom built table using cand cnc dthc2 electronics and mach3 software. I'm just fine tuning my system and getting some really lovely cuts, however, I have 1 issue that keeps cropping up! The lead in / out points make a real mess of the parts... I cut some 25mm holes in 10mm plate and the holes were perfectly round apart from say a 15mm section where the arc had lead in / out. I'm just wondering if there is and particular method for smoothing out the horrible distortion I'm experiencing? I use sheetcam and for the particular cut mentioned above I used a 12mm arc lead in and out.

    Thanks,

    Adam.

Maybe try a tangent lead in/out instead of an arc, plasmacam does it this way and the results are great.
