Hi all behave just finished the first op on a part that was imported as a step file. The outer contour has some odd 'flat' on it (see pic near the 6mm hole at the front) so it makes the radius look more like octagon.

The model looks pretty smooth and no where near as bad as the end result.

I have played around with the arc filter settings but don't really know if that will help at all. I notice it reduced the file just for the contour by a third. Just don't want to keep cutting parts trying different settings if I am not even adjusting the correct settings.



Anyone got any ideas ?

The filtering is there to help smooth it out when using say spline data the will out put as point to point code insteade of interpolating it as arcs were you will out put say Go2 or Go3 interpolation for smoother cuts. so like BM150 was saying share the file so we can look at what type geo you are working with to define what option or filtering would be best.

Thanks guys. Have moved sideways with that job now after finishing the prototype but will be back to it shortly
