    Locating appropriate connectivity cables

    Hi All!

I'm working on a new machine build using kflop as the primary controller to control motion on 4 axes. Just to give you an idea of the end result: the base track is horizontally aligned circular with a vertically aligned hemispherical arch spanning the base track; the vertical arch rides on carts that move along the base track (in equal and opposite directions). Along the arch, another cart rides up and down and preforms work. More about that later I'm sure...

So I've managed to acquire a servo/amp combo with very poor documentation to say the least...

    Here's my setup:
    Attachment 195264
The amplifier shipped with the 2 cables needed to connect to the servo, but what I seem to be missing is some sort of power supply cable for the amplifier. Also, the amplifier appears to be an RS232 connection so will I need to get a kanalog board for connectivity?

    Thanks for your time!

If you can give me more information on the make and model # of the amplifier, I may be able give you more information on what may be missing, etc.!

    Sincerely,

    Thanks for responding Jade!

The amplifier is a Hirden H2N-TD. I may have a line on the 220V power cable from the original distributor, but I know I still need another component to gain connectivity to the KFlop board...

Still unsure or whether or not the KAnalog board can handle communication to the amplifier via RS232. Looking at the KAnalog board, it appears as though I need to find some speciality cable for the JP10 phone connection on the Kanalog board to RS232. Where do I find that? (trying not to feel completely incompetent right now)

Amplifier manual, translated using Google Translate

I hope it's the right thing. It's not easy to read but better than nothing.

    Hi terraform,

Not sure what you would be expecting to do with the RS232, but RS232 would be too slow to control the speed in real-time. I think it is more for setting parameters and such.

It seems the drive has a +/-10V Analog Speed input. I would use that. In the Translation see page 24. looks like the AS+ and AS- inputs could be connected to a Kanalog DAC output and GND.
