    Power supply recomended

    Hello

I am newbie in building cnc manchines, and I needed to know your opinion.

I have 3 PK269JDA Vexta stepper motors, and a blue Chinese TB6560 controller board for 3 axes and was wondering what the recommended power supply for this set, if a 24v 15a is enough, or even stronger.

    thanks

According to the spec sheet at ORIENTAL MOTOR GENERAL CATALOGUE 2-Phase Stepping Motors, that power supply should be OK for those motors when using the TB6560 controller board (2.8 A winding current), however the motors have a relatively high winding inductance of 5.7 mH which means that they really need a much higher voltage to get good speed without too much loss of torque (more than 70 volts would be needed, however the TB6560 can not handle anywhere near that high a voltage).

Thanks in advance for your reply

These motors are to build a homemade CNC MDF, I think the speed is not important for now, this is for a small hobby, not a large machine.

    Thanks again

A 15 amp power supply is more than enough current to drive 3 steppers and you are limited to 24 volts by the driver you have so the power supply you are looking at will do the job for you.

    Cheers
