    KRMx02 Milling More Aluminum

I am finishing up a book on converting a SX2 milling machine to a CNC mill. In doing so I have had the chance to play with more metal cutting aspects of CNCing.

In the Basic Operations of that book I take the reader through the process of creating a small part out of a 1" x 1" x 4" piece of aluminum square tube.

For the heck of it I moved my milling machine vise over to the KRMx02 CNC Router along with my vise stop.

I changed the feeds and speeds to refect an Onsrod 1/4" Oflute and created a new gcode file. Here is the result:

Im very happy with the results. I will be doing a web page on the equipment and setup as soon as I get a chance.

The next step is to move my DIY mister over.

Here I am using an AirExchanger to keep the aluminum chips flying to a minimum.
