Madcam cannot create the correct toolpathes

    Hello from Germany

I will use Madcam to create toolpathes. I have a 10mm high item into a also 10mm high piece of material.
First I take the tool to cut out my item from the rest - that is OK
Now I mark the Item into the material, put the 3mm tool and use the roughing 3D toolpath.
Madcam cannot make a toolpath, it only makes 4 little holes, the other pockets cannot create.

    What I must do?

If I delete the 4 holes and start Madcam It makes the pockets...

Sorry, my english is bad. Please use simple english to answer.

    Thank you, Ron Attachment 198752

    How deep are the pockets?
What is the step down value in the roughing dialog?

    Use pocketing in 2d.
    don't use 3d roughing.

It depends. There's no guarantee we see the entire model, and we don't know what the stock looks like.
There could be islands, other pockets etc. Then a pocket command will destroy the work piece.

    Hello. from Germany

    Thank you for the comments.
Now I know that the cutting depth is fix and for cuttung a 1.5mm deep pocket I must use a cutting depth of 1.5 or 0.75 or 0,375...
I had think Madcam generate the last depth self...
OK. The first step to understand Madcam is taken.

Now I have a 10mm high rough material (blue) and there I will cutout my item. (red)

I use the third, then the second under Button in MadCam (I dont see the english names) to mark the rough material.
I take a 3mm end mill and then I take 3D roughing toolpath to cut it out. (5mm deep, because the test Material is soft)

MadCam makes many many toolpathes and destroy the complete material.

The german help file uses exact this way to go grazy and makes the cutting out toolpath but...

please use a simple english ;o)

    Thank you, Ron from Germany
