Post Chinese CNC 3040T Slow Spindle Motor

    Hello there,
Few months ago i purchased a CNC Machine of Ebay the 3040T, and after few initial problems such as poor wiring have now been resolved.
I have taken a reading of the Spindle Motor with my Laser RPM tester and find the maximum speed is around 5000 rpm.
The work i do is small wood carving on jewellery, and i need more speed.
My question is , are these 300w DC motors capable of more speed ( Another Control Unit) or should i invest in a new Spindle motor and controller. I would would favour that solution.
I would rather not get involved with a Water Cooled unit and in the horspower range, but something small but faster 12000 - 20000 rpm
I would be most grateful if any of you could point me in the right direction, as far as what is best to do, but this spindle motor is just too sloww.
    Thanks
    Einar

What's the diameter of your existing spindle?
Why do you not want a water cooled spindle?
