Reset needed to continue working after g code is finished. Why?

I am recovering from a computer and controller failure. I now have the machine setup and working exactly as before with one exception.

After running a g code the machine will return to zero normally. But after this I cannot move any axis or run new code until I push the 'Reset' button in Mach. Before the failure I was able to continue working with the machine without having to push Reset in between codes. My current controller is different from the one I was using before. Could this be the issue? This is my current controller: H5 Controller | Cau Cau

I have googled the issue and looked in Mach but so far I have no solution.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Are you seeing an error message after running your program?
Is the reset flashing, or do you need to click it twice to get it working again?

There is no error message as far as I can see. I am using the blue screen set and looking in the status bar.

The Reset button is not flashing and I only need to click it once to have the machine responding again.

    Thanks for your time!

    Reset, or Rewind?
Does your g code have an M30 at the end?

I have to push the Reset button on the left of the screen once to get the machine to respond to any inputs from the keyboard after it has finished running the code.

These are the last lines of the code:

I have the same issue with other code I have used before the system failure. These are all codes I have run multiple times without issues in the past. I am using Cut2D for making g code.

I have tried the code with the same Mach3 version I have been using for the last 2 years. I believe the version number ends with .22. And also tried it with the latest version that ends with .66. This made no difference.

    Thanks!

Do you have an Estop switch wired to the machine?

If the reset is not flashing, then clicking it should make it start flashing, and it wouldn't run until you clicked it again.

If there's no error message, than I have no idea what it could be. It shouldn't be able to do what you're saying it's doing.

Gerry, I'm so sorry. I did not check things on my side properly. Sorry for waisting your time!

Mach does do what you are saying it should. I need to click twice. After the first click the Reset button flashes and I get this message:

    Emergency Mode Active etc.

I then need to click once more to have the machine running.

I do not have a Estop switch connected, no limiting switches either. I found this in Mach though and tried to disable the Estop. It will let me do that but be active again when I go back and check. Once when I tried to disable Estop I got a message saying some of my other settings prevent this. I was asked if I want Mach to fix this for me and I clicked ok.

I am using the Big Tex Blue Screen with probing interface. But do not have a probing device connected at the moment.

So, when it finishes running g-code, can you jog the machine? Or does nothing work at all?

Nothing works. I cannot jog the machine. If I attempt to do so Mach will act as if the machine is jogging but the xyz axis will not move until Reset is pushed twice.

If I push Cycle start Mach will start running the code but the machine will not move.

Are you using the parallel port, or a motion controller?
If the parallel port, I'd probably uninstall Mach3 and reinstall fresh, from scratch.

I am using the parallell port. The computer is an old used one. I just yesterday reinstalled the latest version of Mach3. It installs fine with no error messages.

Are you saying the parallell port may be faulty? Perhaps I should try on another computer to test this is not the case.

So there are no settings in Mach which could cause this?

Thanks for all your time, Gerry.

No, I don't think there is anything wrong with the parallel port.
And unfortunately, no, I don't know of any settings that could cause what you're seeing.

Do you have the same issue if you run g-code with the standard screen set?

The issues are the same with the standard screen set.

I got this message after re installing Mach3. Is it possibly connected to the issue in some way?

I do not use limit switches at all. Should I disable all inputs related to limit switches in Mach?

I also wonder why I am not able to disable the External Estop input? Or is the Estop being enabled needed for me to be able to stop the machine pushing the ESC key on the keyboard?

Machine coordinates are not in use. Does that have an effect on things?

If I stop the machine in the middle of the code pushing the stop button I am able to control the machine after this. It seems it stops responding after returning to zero on all axis.
