Hey Switcher, could you describe your process of going from "art to part"? Specifically, I like what you're doing with the round hanging medallions wherein you insert some graphic, IE the butterfly, etc.
What steps do you take? Do you import into Illustrator? Rast2Vec in Art?

I do all my DXF files with Vcarve Pro.
You can download the demo, & try it out, VCP is actually a fun program to work with.
I try to work with only images that have clean edges, & no thumbnail images.
I know this isn't much info, all I can say is VCP is a great program.

Hey Joe,
I have been working on this Aztec Calendar for the last year, granted only a little at a time. I started out with a sorta crappy image from google, vectorized it, and am in the process of retracing it with better lines and arcs. This picture is soooooo big. All I have left is the animals in the middle ring. The PDF you posted would have made my life a lot easier a year ago. I may have to restart it with this picture. Thanks for the post.
