    Here's a FREE program that should help. It will import both formats and export .3ds among many others. Go here " blender.org - Home " and see if it's what you want.

    I just looked at the software "VSO Image Resizer", all I see is a raster image resizer which won't help resize vector images inside Inkscape, the scale would still be off.

    I didnt go thru all of your files, but the ones I did go thru are all smooth slugs, with images of coins pasted on them, no 3d effects at all

    Now I'm confused???? (Which is normal for me)
    Inkscape exports in png --- is that raster or vector?
    Better yet which extensions are which?

    I 'think' I've use VSO on every format -- png/bmp/jpg/gif

    Straighten me out Switcher.

    Shane,
    Here's a video tutorial using Inkscape and Blender.
    This might give you some ideas.

    Inkscape error saving as dxf

    Hey Switcher,

    Loaded in a jpg about 320x200 then every time I try and
    save it as a dxf I get this error and it doesn't show up in
    any of my cad programs.

    Traceback (most recent call last):

    File "mydxf_outlines.py", line 110, in <module>
    e.affect()

    File "E:\Inkscape\share\extensions\inkex.py", line 215, in affect
    self.effect()

    File "mydxf_outlines.py", line 81, in effect
    h = inkex.unittouu(self.document.getroot().xpath('@hei ght',inkex.NSS)[0])

    File "lxml.etree.pyx", line 1308, in lxml.etree._Element.xpath (src/lxml/lxml.etree.c:36829)

    TypeError: xpath() takes exactly 1 positional argument (2 given)

    What do I have to do to fix this? (Reinstall your plugin?)

    Talking

    Thanks for the response guys. I have figured out that I need to do a lot of studying on this CNC thing. Building the machine was the EASY part. Finished my Z axis last night and tinkered with Cut2D. Long way to go for me.
    Looks like it's, CAD it, Image it, Scale it, CAD it, Tool path it, G-code it then CNC it. I hope that I dont bug you guys too much, but one day maybe I will be helping Newbies.

    Nah, you're far from dumb if you're able to ask the question and move on.

    That's learning.... :cheers:

    Did the trace and it looks good
    Saved as a png --- it looks good
    Saved as a dxf --- Same errors and a zero bit file.

    Teach me some more.... P-L-E-A-S-E!
    (This is what I get for not use it in over a year.... I
    can't remember last week! )
