I am using treadmill motor and need about 700 rpm to get 14 volts, might have to use some kind of pully system to get the speed. I think I need in the 30 to 36 inch range.

you might find this interesting. i make whirley gigs. i use 4"
pvc pipe to make 24" blades they work really well.
take 6" or 8" pvc and quater saw it into 4 pcs 30" to 36" long.
taper 1 side from big to little and leave 1.5 to 2" and round the end this will give you 4 really good pitched prop blades.leave 1edge straight for the leading edge.
i ll look for the article and post it

    Qnet2,

Please make sure my spelling on the logo is correct. It was late last night when I did the artwork.

    Happy I could help,

A couple of days ago myxpykalix posted an Aztec calendar. I am a weekend warrior and not very skilled at CNC but I do enjoy working with it as a hobby. I have wanted to try my hand at cutting this for a long time. But I can't figure out the best bit to use or depth. I have considered 2 options. 1) using a V bit at at .1 and doing a 2D cut. Or 2) using a 1/8 inch ball nose and trying to do it in 3D but not sure I would get the detail I want. Looking for some guidance? Can someone please suggest something.

Becikeja I would recommend you do a 2 1/2 d carve. first the time will be a lot less for cutting and to get the same quality of surface doing it with a ball end bit would make the cutting time undoable for most.

I have cut the Aztec calendar 15 + times and it looks great with a simple 90 deg v bit.

The Calender below is 4 foot across and took 3 1/2 hours with my large machine. there's just a pile of vectors your going to be working with.

    have fun cutting
    Erik
