i am getting an error 149 spindle turning, and it appears that it is when the tool changer is trying to index the tool. this being said, we recently replaced the spindle encoder, and the new encoder required a couple value changes. we have been running for about a month since the change and now all of a sudden we are getting this error. can anyone help?

What year is this machine?
Does it have a Haas Vector Drive or another brand of spindle drive?
When the encoder was replaced, were the belt and/or pulleys replaced also?
I would check belt and pulleys for wear and verify that each are tight.

The year on the machine is 01/05? And yes it does have a vector drive. When we replaced the encoder, we replaced all belts and pulleys. I have just checked the tension, and all seems well. I have noticed that when the machine is sitting idle, the machine RPM bounces from 0 to 1, and once you spindle orient, the spindle has a constant vibration to it!

Any suggestions?

we ended up changing the magnetic encoder, and reset the spindle orientation, this seems to have solved the problem.
