    HRT160 Can't home

Friday night and I get this error for a project that is due Sunday. . . .

Initially it was the A axis over temperature alarm so I turned off the temperature check in the parameter and now I am getting A servo error too large. Rotary will alarm during the homing cycle.

Is this a parameter error or a hardware error?

    thanks,

    John

Have you used this rotary with you machine before? Need more details here. Machine needs to be adjusted for each different rotary used with it and the parameters are different.

I''ve used it a few times. The last time was a couple month ago. The HRT160 is a 08' model. When I first encounter the rotary motor over temp alarm I changed parameter 43 to the printed default value listed in the back of the VF-2SS 06' manual. After I modified parameter 43 I realized that the printed values are probably outdated since the 4th axis was added later. Does anyone know what are the correct parameter 43 values for a 08' HRT160?

    thanks,

    John

I called Haas and the problem was resolved. I had selected the wrong model number for the setting. I should have selected HRT160H(brushless) instead of HRT160. In my mind I've always through of it as a HRT160, but there are actually multiple models with different motor configuration/generation.

Also, parameter 43 changes depending on the rotary table selected.

Anyway, it's one of those stupid little human errors compounded by my infrequent use of the rotary table. Now, I know. It's HRT160H and not HRT160.

Yep, that is what I figured, all setting have to be checked and compatible.

    Great news, have fun!

Be sure to reset any changes you made trying to figure things out. This could potentially save you some headaches in the future.
