My Hitachi Seiki VA 50 seicos system will not start up, could this be due to a leaky capacitor not holding charge, causing the system to fail?

Do you see anything on the screen?
Is there any alarm in any of the pcb´s? (behind the display?)

Hi Alex, there are no alarms behind the display, but a Circuit Breaker in the cabinet popped due to the solenoids going wild at one point.

We think we have located the problem to the 5V power supply. When the machine has been turned on and warmed up for a while this voltage reads as it should (5V) However if the seicos system is turned off for a period of time and then turned on the voltage reading from the power supply is as small as 4V, but as the cabinet and controls warm up this reading increases. We have an external power supply that we are going to monitor this reading with to establish if this is the cause.

Many thanks for replying, I will keep you posted on the outcome.

    Cheers

    Mark
