I have had a laser cutter engraver for four years and am approaching the point where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on a 4'x4' CNC Plasma build. Currently trying to convert good ideas into money.

Hello, my name is Greg. I'm located at the east side of the Great Basin in the shaddow of the Wasatch Mountains (Utah). I bought an old cnc machine a few years ago. unknown brand. I haven't had time to fix it up until recently. A few weeks ago I dusted my cnc machine off and have been setting it up. It uses a rack and pinion for the X and Y axis and a ball screw for the Z axis. It had a Peter Norberg controller card but I replaced it with a PMDx-126 controller Card and an ethernet smooth stepper. I am new to Mach3 and BobCad so I have been setting it up and learning at the same time.. My work experience has helped me in setting up my cnc machine. I work at a semiconductor plant which is fully automated. I work often with robots and am familiar with stepper, servo and linear motors.

Young designer and fabricator here searching for more knowledge into life and love. But mostly CNC machines and every avenue related. I've trained on manual milling machines and lathes and have some experience using laster cutters and VMC's but have realized that in order to stay up with design, fabrication, and large scale manufacturing I need to keep up with modern methods.
