    Setting up drivers

Im trying to understand how to set the dip switches on my kl8056 drives for stepping.Understanding how to set the power was pretty straight forward. I see there are numbers that range from 400-25000. How does that translate into full step 1/2 or 1/8 step? And what should I shoot for?
My BOB is C35 and Ball screws are 1605.

Read my #6 here for recommended dip settings.

Their chart is a little confusing, 400 is for 1/2 microstepping for example, they assume you are using the typical 200 steps per rev stepper
so 200 x 2 = 400, multiply that by the pitch of your screws (tpi) and any reduction of a belt drive to get your steps per for motor tuning.
I imagine you are using direct drive so it would just be 400 x 5.08 (5mm pitch) = 2032 steps per.
    For 1/8 microstepping, 1600 x 5.08 = 8128.

    Hoss thanks allot .
I actually went on your site and didnt see anything yesterday . I guess I didnt look hard enough.
I have a question for you while I have you have you ever built and used the oldham couplings you have on your project page? I was think of building those or trying to thread mill a set of helical couplers using a slitting saw. I seen the test you did on the two but I honestly am still leaning towards helicals .

Unless you go with stainless ones helicals are just springs imo.
Yes I made one of the oldhams when I lost an original, it's still on the z axis today.
