I've started planning out the 2.5D Vector/Vcarve app I'm going to write next. I've got a list of all the standard vector tools and pathing options, but if I do all that, that still just puts me at feature parity with existing programs like VCarve Pro. I'll be charging significantly less (I'm thinking $100, $75 if you already own carve), but I'd like to come up with some useful capabilities that make it better than the competition on more than just price, like Carve's ability to generate profile passes from the image alpha to cut out the carving.

Currently, I'm planning on a standard set of 2d vector creation/modification tools, along with the usual path options: profile, pocket, vcarve, drill, prism, and inlay helper. Also, if you own Carve as well, you'll be able to generate heightmap passes to mix with the vector work.

So - what sort of new features/abilities would ya'll like to see in a 2.5d vector CAM program?
