    Drilling depth

If I program a drilling operation, say, 0.7" into a stock (without tip compensation enabled), will it be 0.7" deep along the side of the hole or 0.7" to the center of the tip? In other words, if I have a 0.7" stock and enter -0.7" depth, will the tip touch the other side or will it break through until the sides of the flutes touch the other side?

    Thanks!

To drill point. If you enable tip compensation it will be to the drill dia edge you can add a value you want it to break through.

Cool, thanks. So I can enable tip compensation and set the compensation to zero and then when I drill blind holes it will measure by hole depth along the side and not the center. Tommy likey.

By George, I think he's got it

It is good to go a little deeper ( say 1mm), for thru holes, just to make sure there is no lip on the underside
