    Motor/Stepper/Servo Shield for Arduino

I have acquired a sherline cnc mill without the control box or the headstock and looking at the prices I can’t afford original equipment. I was wondering if anyone has used a Arduino and there Motor control shields? Adafruit Motor/Stepper/Servo Shield for Arduino v2 Kit - v2.0 Adafruit Motor/Stepper/Servo Shield for Arduino v2 Kit [v2.0] ID: 1438 - $19.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits
I would like to be able to use Mach 3 with it.
    Regards,
    Gerald.

A quick read of the specs for that particular shield suggests to me that it is NOT a good choice - voltage and current is too low for good performance.

Find the electrical specs for the motors on your machine and work from there. As an example, consider the stepper drivers described in these threads:
    Linistepper and 6064 Driver.
