Hello All,
I am in the process of deciding on a laser cutter/engraver and I have been researching the k40 and the FS Laser units. I have heard a ton of bad about each one yet also some good. My needs are more for etching my logo into Black anodized aluminum. I may also have a need to cut some rubber and light ply, but 90% of my use will be the etching of a logo on anodized aluminum.
I have found an upgraded K40 on the light object website for a similar price to the FS Laser and curious if the upgraded version of the K40 is a better option than the FS laser unit. Most of my files will be exported from Solidworks to the cutter or through adobe or corel if needed. Light object also sells all the parts required to upgrade a K40 and I might be able to spend less upgrading one I buy on ebay myself.
I am also open to building my own from Makerslides as I have a background in linear motion.
I am also open to any other options in the 2K range or less...
Best regards,
Marc
