Recently I noticed my machine was not cutting straight anymore. The Y axis was not cutting square to the X axis. I later found that the gantry tube was not square with the Y axis rails. I went to fix this and found that there was no easy way of adjusting the bearing blocks. Complete removal of the gantry was needed which meant a lot of work. Well I took the gantry apart I modified the way the bearing blocks were put on and so far I am happy with the result. Everything seems very sturdy and working great. Now in the future I don't need to remove the gantry or the belts from the machine to re-align.
So here is what I did. Instead of using ready rod with a bunch of nuts on the inside of the gantry tube, I replaced the whole thing with one 3" bolt and a stainless steel tube. Pls look at pictures and it should be clear to what I have done. Now by loosening the two bolts I can adjust the alignment.
