    Question Homing and Limit Switches

Ive spent the last few days searching for this answer.

On converted mills, do you have your X-Y homing switches adjustable ?
That is, being able to reposition along the axis, depending on the size of piece to be machined ?

and if the limit switches are static, permanently fixed, by positioning a homing switch next to it,
Ill lose more travel. Is there another way ?

    Using Mach3.

    I found this video.

Home doesn't have to be at the limit. A home switch has nothing to do with overall travel. You just need to tell MACH3 how far from the limit that home is.

your over travel, and home switch can be the same switch. Or at least in Mach3 it can be. My limit switches are fixed. There is no need to have the limit switches adjustable. You just use your fixture offsets for smaller parts.
