hello all,
can anyone tell me what may be the problem for following sequence of events:
1. i have connected leadshine m752 drive with breakout board and switched it on.
2. the green led indicator of drive was on showing normal power on.
3. i did not connect the motor(actually i forgot), and tried to give command by mach3 software.
4. soon the led of drive turned red. and i was afraid i have done somthing wrong
5. so i switched off everything.
6. i again restarted and the led still shows red.

my doubt is , whether the drive is damaged due to this. or i connect motor and start doing work again.
please guide me as i am a beginner.

Your best bet is to connect the motor (with the power off) and then try again.

The troubleshooting section of the M752 manual states that the driver will be in a 'fault' condition if "Something wrong with motor coil." This is only a guess, but not having a motor coil connected and then enabling the drive could be seen as "Something wrong with motor coil."

ok,
with all motors connected, no problem with the fault led and all are rotating well,
i think i have to set current to some optimum value so that it doesn't loose steps and also free from overheating problem.
that of course depend on mechanical load on the motor.
