    G0704 belt drive

    Hey ,
Im in the middle of doing the whole tts power draw bar / tread mill motor mod to my G0704.
I purchase Hoss plans and there great . Im trying to decide on what type pulleys to use and what ratio.
Any opinions . Timing belts look good
I have the 3.8hp nordictrak motor.

The board has been quite lately, I take that to mean guys are out in their shops building something. I know that is the case in my situation (well in this case the cellar).

The way I see it you have two good choices for spindle drive belts. You can go the timing belt way using HTD (or one of the many other standard tooth profiles) or you can go the Poly-V belt way. Either choice can result in a nice drive system. Where synchronization isn't needed I prefer Poly-V style belts myself.

Don't forget the physical limitations of the machine. It is always a good idea to run belt and pulley selections through one of the many on line calculators to make sure what you have chosen will fit well. That is your center to center distance match up with the reality of your machine.
