Could someone please let me know the size of the shoulder bolt size for the standard 34 nema rack and pinion drive?

Hi Dan,

There are two shoulder bolts in the Nema 34 Standard R&P system. The pivot bolt that attaches the unit to the linear carriage is .5" dia .75" long. The shoulder bolt that attached the spindle to the drive plate is a .5" dia 1.25" long.

Thanks for your reply. I already purchased 3 Standard 34nema rack and pinion drives among many other components from cncrouterparts...LOL. What I need to know is size and thread for the shoulder bolt that screws into the linear carriage to mount the rack and pinion. I am using cncrouterparts standard gantry risers and rack and pinion drives but NOT the linear carriage. I'm using THK rails and fabricating my own from a 1"x 3"x 12" aluminium block. It will bolt to standard gantry riser like your linear carriage does and I need to know what size to tap hole for shoulder bolt that comes with the rack and pinion drive to mount to my block.

The threading on the shoulder bolt is 3/8-16. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
