    turning 430 stainless-Citizen C 16

I am having trouble holding a 32 finish on the o.d. Stock diameter is .156 and I'm turning it to .125. The max tool nose I can use is .006. Machines max RPMs are 10,000. I have access to carbide and cermet inserts. Does anyone have any insight for feeds and speeds, or other tips?

I've had good luck using a wiper insert. They basically have a small land with no back relief that rubs after the cut and improves surface finish. Iscar had one that I really liked with a .002 CNR and their altin coating. Grade 808 maybe? I forget off hand as its been a year since I used it

Also, depending on how long your turn is, I have had good luck doing multiple plunge cuts with a wide groover in materials that do not finish well like 12L14
