Power tapping and best way to secure tap and KBB 125 power compenstation.

Have G0704 and am having troubles power tapping. The standard R8 collets I have been using are allowing the tap to spin within the collet, no matter how much I tighten them. Is there a better way and an economical one at that to secure these little buggers?

Also, anyone with an upgraded KBB board? Need some guidance adjusting the pots to maintain speed, torque. Not very fluent in electrical stuff.

You're doing *rigid* tapping with a DC motor spindle? You *really* should be using a tension/compression tap holder, if not a full tapping head....

When I did some power tapping the drill chuck worked great for 3/8 taps in steel.
I did the same for years at work with our bridgeports.
There are instructions in the KB manuals for adjusting the pots.
