It's been a while since I started looking into building my cnc & it's time to start getting serious about things.

I'm wondering if I can use some old computer server power supplies either alone for 12v @ 40a+ or in series for 12v, 36v, etc.
I already use a couple server psu's for my bench testing power supply for my other electronic projects (2 psu's in series for 24v @ 40a+) with a couple buck converters where I can vary the voltage from 3v up to 24v.

I've seen where it's recommended to run stepper motors at 10x to 20x their rated power, ie: a 2v motor should be fed 20v or more.
Would there be any issue using server psu's rather than a custom built (and probably more expensive) power supply?
