Hi ,

I own an old FZ12 which was manufactured in 1987.
The serial number of the machine is FZ12 number 101-18.

The serial number of the Sinumerik is ,

Sinumerik 810 M,
6FC3471-OAA-Z
F-NR.:A 1477149
24 V DC 120 W

When our machine is powered up we get an alarm message "12 ORD1 PP memory wrongly formatted"

The symptoms are
1/ The softkeys will not work.
2/ It IS possible to reference the machine
3/The Swarf elevator is on permanently. The switch does not turn it off
4/ The coolant pump switch works correctly and goes on and off.
5/ None of the other buttons or switches on the upper panel work.


Can anyone suggest what may be wrong?

Hi,

I have seen this problem before, you need to press the eyeball button to get to the service menu, enter password (default: 1111) and find the "clear PP" option.

Beware if you go to the initial clear mode, if you erase to much you need to reload TEA1, TEA2 and PCP files. Make sure you have them.
In official Siemens book error 12 states:

-Error in RAM area of CPU or memory module
-The minimum size of the part program was not reached
-Module withdrawn
-Check MD12 and depress "clear partpr" softkey (bit hard if softkeys don't work...)
