    Question Rotate a drawing

I am new to Alibre and was wondering how to rotate a 2D drawing around a point? Kinda like simulating a lifting link arm in up and down position.

Are you talking about motion simulation or a paper 2D representation of the design?

this would be on paper 2D during the preliminary design phase. If you would draw a rectangle with X and Y zero in the center and then tilt it upward 27 degrees from the bottom left corner.

So, you just want to show the rectangle tilted upward on the drawing? The easiest way might be to create the part with the same tilt and generate the drawing from a front view of the part. You should probably try asking this question on the Geomagic user forum as well.

    Re: Rotate a drawing

I use Alibre Design 10..so no guarantees

Select figure, then on Tool Bar: Sketch>Rotate..follow instructions

If there are horizontal and/or vertical constraints, you will have to remove them.

Also "Snap to Grid" setting may have to be turned off.
