    Unhappy A2100 system error

    Hi there,

    I'm facing this error
    Attachment 222512

shortly after the RT board lost bios setting due to flat battery

I tried attaching a VGA and a keyboard and took off the setting for waiting a floppy and keyboard error
then tried to flash the bios using a file siemens sent me but the board didn't load from floppy
I attached the WS HD to it and flashed the bios from there didn't see any changes really

anyway I tried replacing both WS and RT boards and have 2 copies of the HD all gives same error

    all system checks passes OK

wonder if some one can help me sending their HD image to try with maybe the software got corrupted at some stage
or guide me what to try next

here is my current software version

    Attachment 222518

    Thx in advance

during startup at step 2 or 3 I think , I read it could be RT bios flashing thing or fault by the IO card itself !!

OK finally I managed to flash the BIOS of the RT and that solved the yellow fuse error above,
after flashing the bios looks like this
    Attachment 224608
note that I changed Halt on No errors manually
    Attachment 224610
    Attachment 224612
    Attachment 224614
    Attachment 224616

I believe you can do the changes manually and still get the RT working
after flashing you should see this error from the RT booting

    Attachment 224618

which is fine as it cant find the riser board (BBB)

the way I flashed it :

As i couldn't create a working floppy even with Floppy flash drives I had to create a dos5 bootable CD then boot a modern machine (RT didn't recognize any of my CD drives ), then within DOS formatted an old HDD (maxtor 20G) with /s (to copy system files ) then copied the bios flashing tool and files to it , voila used this to boot and flash my RTs

I flashed the RT bios b4 within WS winNT drive (using a 16m RAM) that gave successful message but actually did nothing

now restoring configurations of the machine and setting it up and trying to fix Alarm 39-6

I wish that would help a stuck human somewhere on earth

    looks great
i hope u changed drive a to none
and pnp to enable thats how i think it should be.

can you also post bios setting picture for the ws bios so we have this from a working station on one thread...
hope the rest of your problem will fix by restoring configurations
    best luck

    Re: A2100 system error

Has anyone received alarm 40-33 after flashing the RT board? The I/O board is good.

Make sure all Your connections and cards are placed correctly and are firm. Reattach each connector to be sure.

All the connections are good. I only receive this alarm with my new RT board. I have reset the bios to Siemens specs. Has any one solved this problem?
Does any one have the disk to flash the bios for motherboard G7VP2 part # 3-424-2379A01
    Thank you

    Re: A2100 system error

u don t need a disk. most common steps to have a working realtime board are.

    Exchange batteries.
get an old isa vga board a really old keyboard and a normal monitor and a powersupply.
Disassemble the rt board from the control box
Start it alone with help of the above units.
press f1 or esc or whatever key gets u into bios settings.
In my experience setting everything to default and change date and set halt on fault to never or none is more than enough to get your rt board work again.
after that reassemble everything in its right place.
And you should have a working machine.

Some other users have other rt boards with other bioses like akram on this thread. see the configuration pictures he uploaded.

    Best of luck
