    TORMACH Scanner questions

Do any of you guys own, or have used the TORMACH Scanner?
I've watched the YouTube videos, and read the package details on the TORMACH website, and I must admit, I'm intrigued.
You can take a part with no print, scan it, and VIOLA!! you have a scanned part, DXF File, and dimensions ready for part-programming.
Transfer the DXF file to CAM software, and done!
    Is it really that simple?
Does the Scan Software accurately dimension all angles, radii, diameters, ovals, etc.?
It sounds like an awesome addition for my small shop.

I have one. It took a bit of a learning curve on my part to get it right but it is pretty slick. if there is a lot of vertical height changes on your piece... you might need to get a little creative. On trick I found was that i could take a logo, art work, etc and then print it out with a scale on it, place it onto the mill table and then scan it it. I have also used it as a microscope to zoom in on some surface imperfections in a batch of anodized parts to really see what the spots looked like.

The trial version at least does no such thing as spitting out DXFs. You get to hand-measure (with the software) any feature you are interested in.
