hello friends! My name is Silviu, i'm a beginner in cnc field and i'm working on a milling machine with Sinumerik 840D.
I want to know how can I automatically measure it with Renishaw, for exemple 'diameter of holes'. It is posible writing a code in MDI mode with a measuring cycle or something or making a .MPF ...?

this is the way i'm doing right now:

MDI mode:
T50 (RENISHAW)
M6
G570
GO
B0
X0 Y0
Z-6
M30
then i'm going in JOG mode and making the measurement of the workpieces ( in 4 points at 45 degrees, )

Of course you can you can use some of many measuring cycles for 840D.
You should write an .SPF and call it whenever you want.

I second using the Siemens cycles as a starting point - you could also contact Renishaw regarding Inspection Plus for Siemens which is a bit more flexible and intuitive.
If you want to get the probing data out into an offline inspection report, let me know I can help with that.
