If Mach 3 controls the spindle, and that spindle has a power supply, is it wise to have an on/off switch for that power supply ??

Usually this would be turned off by the E-stop relay?

I digress, does Mach 3 turn on the power to the spindle automatically, even if I haven't called for it.? Have I communicated what I'm asking correctly?
When I, power up Mach 3 on my computer, does it take over all selected and configured aspects, including powering up any, and all accessories, such as a spindle. ?
I have not added an E Stop as of yet. I know I must get one soon!
Normally Mach would only control the spindle through M3/M4/M5 or if an E-Stop was issued from the PC, in the latter case, the E-Stop should also be included in the hardware E-stop string which in turn would shut down the spindle.
Also the E-stop string should be held off until Mach comes on line, in order that sudden activation of the spindle while booting does not occur.
