Hi All,

I just bought a Boss 3 in mid-conversion and am gathering the final pieces I need to get it running.

I discovered that the QC30 spindle nut, just the inner lock ring tangs, are heavily chewed. I suspect this machine was dropping tools and coming back down on the holder. The tangs are worn to a sharp point on the ID. I've not been able to find a replacement part and lost the last auction on a complete spindle nut assembly (went for ~$200).

I might need my expectations calibrated, but I'm trying to keep the costs down at least until I know how the machine runs and am looking for a replacement just for that lock ring. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I've really enjoyed the recent threads here about these old machines and sights provided by a few members. They have been very helpful to me and I'm likely to come back with a few questions.

Thanks!
