    Powermax model, which one?

Hi, I am in the process of putting together a list of what to buy for my plasma cnc set up.

    1. 2x2 table from precision plasma llc
    2. Electronics from candcnc.com
    3. Plasma: Hypertherm.

I design and build electric bike conversion kits. I currently have them cut in a shop using waterjet but I need to have full control of time and design changes that I make thats why I decided to set up my own machine. I can't afford a water jet system, plasma is more feasible for my small business.

Majority of my cutting will be on stainless steel 1/4" plates, 6" × 5" parts. I would also be cutting out brackets from 1/2" SS and 3/4" SS plates too, 4"×2" sized brackets.

Will a Hypertherm Powermax 45 be enough or I will be pushing it when I start cutting the 4"×2", 1/2" and 3/4" thick brackets from stainless steel plates? I would also be cutting Aluminum, max material thickness will be 1/2".

    Thank you for your help.

    Sonny

At least a powermax 105, I would say.
I suggest you have samples made on this exact machine.
considering you currently have them waterjet, I wouldnt be surprised if you are really upset with outcome of your thick parts.
You can also forget about installing small dia holes and buy a cnc mill to do them
