I am attempting my first Cnc router build and make my first rookie mistake right away.

I designed and plasma cut the frame from 4mm domex steel plate and this is where i made my first mistake.

In hindsight i should have laser cut them ,the piercings for alignment slots i made are 20mm x 4 mm and when plasma cutter pierced the steel it made about 5mm hole so the slots are actually oval not rectangular as 'n expected.I had to hand grind all the slots to make them slot together.

Please comment on design so far and point out possible other hiccups I may encounter.

Would drilling a grid of holes into the spoil board and plugging with dells work for clamping work piece ?

The frame weighs about 40 kg is this good or bad for a router i know mills weigh a couple of tons ?
