how to tell if encoder index is being seen

I looked on the halmeter but I did not see anything other than index enable, which reads FALSE.

I am trying to get the brushless servo motor to home properly.

One way to test is put a halmeter on index_enable, setp index_enable true and then
turn the shaft to see where index_enable gets cleared

if it doesnt get cleared in one turn you probably have a wiring error
if it gets cleared immediately regardless of shaft position, the index polarity is probably wrong

Thanks for the help. I resorted to the expedient of disconnecting the wires and then testing again. It is definitely finding the index just fine.
