    Help with Mill/Turn Problem.

Hi to you all, just getting acquainted with FC 2013 and finding it a very nice package. So far I have created a few simple standard milled components using the milling features and have also created a few simple parts for the lathe using the Turn functions.

Today I tried to create a part for the turn/mill but when I tried to simulate the machining I encountered the following error:

TCG08 Operation has been assigned to a turret that does not support live tooling.

I have checked the various properties boxes and I can only see one turret available to me which is the Upper Turret. Is there something I need to alter in the settings to enable the upper turret to support live tooling?

    Thank You.

You need to select a Post Processor that supports live tooling.
    "See attached"
The highlighted area is where you can click and choose/change the post that you are using.
    Hope this helps.

    Good Luck~!

Hi PC, thanks for the help, you was certainly on the right track there but it looks like I do not have any turn/mill post processors. Found the posts folder and the turn mill folder is empty! Don't know what has happened there.

Any idea how I can find a post processor, just looking for a standard FANUC one, I can always make any tweaks to the nc code before I send the code to the machine.

    Thanks

Well, thanks for the post PC, I think we are going to have to upgrade our old shop floor laptop. Its been refusing to install any updates of late so unfortunately the post processor you gave us wont open in our version of FC (8.135). We might have to wait a few weeks/months for the boss to upgrade us to a better newer laptop.

Thanks anyway, really good of you to help.

    Wow!
    Version 8.135 ?
That is a very old version.
FC is up to 20.6 now.
Maybe an upgrade with that new laptop?

    Best of luck

By the sounds of things, they have not bothered updating it since they purchased the system. In fact as far as I can gather, they haven't really used it at all, its just been on the laptop which is now at the end of its life so once we get the new laptop, I will try get everything up to date.

    Thanks again

I know it's been a while. Any chance of re-posting your TURNMILL.zip file. Not able to download it. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe it's not available for download any longer on the server.

    Thanks!
