Hi,
I recently built a 3 axis CNC and I found there is some skew between its 3 axis.
In Mach 3 there is the possibility to compensate those misalignments using the 'formula axis correction' tab.
I then calculated the equations needed to compensate the skews knowing by how much the axis are rotated respect to their nominal orientation.
In the attached files you will find the equations I wrote (ppt) using mathcad (zip), in case someone might find them useful.
After measuring the skews in my CNC and using the calculated coefficients in the Mach 3 formula I have been able to correct the CNC systematic errors :wee:
Now my CNC it works as expected.
