    Laser cutter nog cutting smooth

    Hallo

    I have a Chinese laser cutter 80w.
It worked perfectly for a few months, but today when I started cutting the cutting was not smooth.
I used my normal settings for cutting mount board. I have attached a picture of the item I tried to cut and also my file (exported to png). Even the name is distorted.
When I lower my speed (usally I cut at 80 speed, now I have to cut at 20 speed) it comes out perfect.

What can the cause of this be? I have no idea.

    Thanks

First thing is that please check the beam and make sure that it is in the centre of the mirrors. If it is in the centre of mirror, it should be laser tube problem. The laser tube lose the power, you need to buy the new laser tube.

It looks like it has some thing to do with your lens or mirrors. First I would look at the lens and make sure it is clean, be sure to put it back the same way as it came out (it has a curve on one side which goes up).

If the mirror is OK, then you need to check the alignment of the mirrors. There are many videos on YouTube that explain how to do it.

To me it looks like the machine is stuttering or not moving smooth. Check to see if your head moves easily.

According to my experience, I think it may caused by the shivering laser head,
first of all, please check if your laser head is fixed or not,
    if not, just fix it,

if it's stable, then go to next step: check the focus lens,
as you can take the laser head down and shake it,
you may hear Swaying noise from the head tube if the focus lens is loose,

if still not ok, then you should check the belt and subdivision of the driver.

hope you can solve the problem soon.
    good luck to you.

    Thanks for all the advice.

We did check the lens and mirrors - perfectly lined up.
It is a new tube - the tube is only about 5 months old. We only cut 3mmMDF and card/mount board.

Checked the head - moving smooth.

We will check each and every screw and tighten it. Will keep you informed.

    Hi NatD
How about your machine works now?
After you check the belt(is it possible the x-axis or y-axis belt are loose) and subdivision of the driver, whether you have find out where is the problem?
Hope you solved this problem already
    Good luck to you

    Thanks for all the advice.

We tightened all the screws and re-aligned everything, and for now it looks like it is better.

    Well done, NatD
Maybe you can do more for the cutting test at present.
    Good luck to you
