Hello, looking for some guidance.... We recently purchased a used 2005 Calypso hammerhead waterjet. After installation we were able to briefly cut a few parts. However, the machine soon stopped and required a software key code. The previous owners did not have this code.

After some research we contacted American waterjet. They said that we needed to purchase a key code card for $1,000 as well as their custom computer for an additional $2,000 ($3,000 in total).

Is there another way we can secure our key code without having to purchase all of this? I don't mind paying for a license renewal etc but buying a whole new computer seems un necessary.

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

ask them WHY you need a new PC for the software you are going to get.
and let them spescify it to you why you can not use the current one.
and if it comes down to the operating system, well get one your self, cheeper then to buy a new pc just for that ( if you have a pc that can handle w7/w8 )
for me its sounds that they are only out for selling things you dont need.

There is a guy you can call for a key. His name is Bill Johnston with Hi-Line Industrial. He also works with WinterCity Software, the creator of NC Console and Geomate. His # is 951-264-9368 or his email is [email protected]
He charged us like $75, but that was a few years ago. We did eventually have to go with AWPwaterjet and buy the new software with the permanent key.
