I was never into naming my cars... but a friend was over and ask me if I named my CNC machine.
She is a nurse and apparently where she works, they name all the large machines.
So do you guys? and what do you call it?

Not a stupid question.
I thinking the same thing the other day. I called my CNC mill the ORK. Because its big, ugly and green. Ork as in the Dungeon and Dragon creature.

Every computer I have had has a name with the first letter M moniker.
I gave the computer connected to my machine...wait for it..."Mill"
Haha, that was a good laugh today at work.
Really needed it.
Built a Blackfoot 4x8 clone. It's big it's heavy it's wood. (should have named it "Log") I named it Manatee keeping with the moniker.
mine is called A HOLE it`s always getting fixed when other people use it

Mine is "ARNOLD" as in the Terminator. When I first got the CNC the mechanical sounds it made reminded me of the movie. Even put vinyl letters on it with the name!
We got a big old green Leadwell mill and retrofitted it with new controls; it dwarfed every other machine in the shop, so naturally we started calling it The Beast. So when we decided to build a large deep-Z 4-axis router for artistic projects in wood, what else could we call it but Beauty?
mine is called the Moneypit,Thats how I bring up the linuxcnc, when it is started I click on Moneypit to run a file to the cnc,and the computer that runs the program is called Merlin, bucause it magicaly changes thing on it own,and causes me all kinds of problems before i can cut out any thing..
